Being Smarter About the Choices You Make

2 min read

We all make choices in our life. On a daily basis we make the choice of what we are going to wear, what we eat, what we say, and what actions we take in our life. Some of the choices we make are great and some are not the best. Our choices can lead us in a direction toward success and others send us in a downward path, that will take us a very long time to recover from.

The choices that I’ve made in my life, have been on my mind lately. I have been thinking a lot about bad decisions I have made over the past few years. From goals not being pursued, to allowing distractions to overthrow my priorities, also me giving power to friendships by allowing them to continue breathing, knowing they should have met their demise a very long time ago. Yes, my unwise choices!

And as I have pondered these choices, I have made, I came across a part in a book that I am reading that speaks about this very thing. The author shared that we need to take ownership of choices we make in our life. We must learn from them, become wiser, and not continue to make those same decisions anymore.

I must have read that passage of the book, twenty times as each word soaked into my mind, renewing it at that moment.

“I have to be smarter about the choices I make.” I screamed aloud so that it could penetrate my heart.

I have to make the choice to stay focused on my dreams.
I have to make the choice to end distractions.
I have to make the choice to keep toxic individuals out of my life.
I have to make the choice to eat healthier and exercise.
I have to make the choice to do what is best for me.

I have a choice.
You Have a choice.
We have a choice.
Make sure you are being smarter about the choices you make.
