After sharing with a friend about my child’s behavior difficulties, she asked me, “How can I pray for you?” At that moment, I didn’t know how to respond. There is always so much to pray about. Later, I thought about her question and how someone can pray for me and all mothers. God gave it to me. Pray for The Lord to fill all mothers, with His Holy Spirit!
Galatians 5:22,23 reads, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” That is what a mom needs! We need the living God to dwell within us, to provide us with all the resources required to raise our children.
Love – Pray that Moms have God’s “Agape”, unconditional, sacrificial love, that he extends to us, so we can give the same to our children, at all times.
Joy – Pray for joy, that inward resolve, that comes from knowing and believing that God is everything we need.
Peace – Pray for inner peace or quietness, that stays within us, no matter what is happening with our children.
Longsuffering – Pray for the ability to rejoice in longsuffering as we patiently wait and hope for God’s will and way in raising our children.
Kindness – Pray for us to extend the kindness that God shows us, caring for our children with no selfish motive, but a genuine heart.
Goodness – Pray that we will always be good to our children as God is to us, always providing, with our time, attention, as well as forgiving our children, as God forgives us.
Faithful – Pray that we are faithful, caring for our children and being the loyal mother that God has called us to be.
Gentleness – Pray to always be meek, calm, and tender to our children’s needs.
Self-control – Pray for all Moms to remain controlled, restrained, and calm, when caring for our children, especially when times are difficult.
So to answer that question, How can you pray for me? Or all mothers raising children? Pray Galatians 5:22, 23, that our Lord will fill us with His Holy Spirit to raise our children.
